Specialized Trainings & Continuing Education

We offer various continuing education courses, presentations, and trainings for professional development and parent education. We are approved to offer dental continuing education units (CEUs) via the San Diego County Dental Society, and we present to a variety of dental/orthodontic offices throughout San Diego. We also go to schools to teach and train the school staff on various areas of speech, language, social, and myofunctional development. I had the privilege of meeting with Nicole Goldfarb at the Myofunctional Center for a sleep consultation, and I cannot praise her enough. Nicole went above and beyond to understand my complex medical history, taking into account my allergies, physical therapy needs, myofunctional issues, sleep habits, and dental considerations. She meticulously crafted a comprehensive strategy that integrates all these facets, providing me with a roadmap toward better health.

Nicole's passion for her work is palpable, and her dedication to her patients' success is truly remarkable. What struck me most was her personal connection to the field; hearing about her own journey overcoming sleep issues was not only inspiring but reassuring. I left our consultation feeling hopeful and empowered, knowing I had found a true partner in my health journey.

Based on Nicole's recommendation, I will be seeing a sleep specialist, confident that together with her guidance, we will find solutions to my challenges. It was an honor to meet Nicole, and I look forward to continuing to work with her until we resolve this issue. I cannot recommend Nicole and the Myofunctional Center highly enough for anyone seeking expert care with a deeply personal touch.

Nicole has been extremely helpful in advising us on our airway journey. She is so knowledgeable in all aspects of airway, and we have gleaned so much information from the many interviews she has done. Nicole Goldfarb changed my life.

I reached out to Nicole in desperation. I was suffering from 9/10 chronic pain which led to the deterioration of my mental health.

I live in Australia and had little hope that I would get a reply, I had just been discharged from a psychiatric ward and the future wasn’t looking bright.

Not only did Nicole reply, she shared her knowledge and also reached out to a team of health professionals she knew in my area with the next steps in my journey. She was kind and most importantly, she was honest.

6 months have passed and I have my life back. I’m happy and hopeful again, back to enjoying my life. I wouldn’t be in this position
without Nicole and for that I am forever thankful.

After years of always feeling tired, complaints from other about my snoring and the feeling of stopping breathing during the night, I finally visited Nicole and her amazing team at San Diego Center for Speech Therapy. What an experience it was! I was seen for a myofunctional evaluation on Friday and it was the most thorough examination I have ever had from any Medical or healthcare professional in my life. Nicole and her team were friendly, compassionate, down to earth, professional and extremely knowledgeable. She completed a full exam, explained everything in detail and provided me a detailed plan for the future. I do not know why I waited so long to be treated. I highly recommend these guys! Don't wait any longer.

After a less-than-stellar experience at another speech center in San Diego, my 11 yo son has worked with 2 different therapists here and both have been excellent. They identified an underlying problem that was missed by the other speech center, and he has made much better progress. Our experience here has been great.

I have seen Nicole for 2 years and she literally has been life changing. She has been the ultimate connector for me between doctors, sleep, breathing and dentists and has been able to point me in the direction of diagnosis that doctors could not.

I started seeing her for a tongue thrust. Through our behavior sessions, she discovered that I couldn’t breathe well through my nose leading to open mouth breathing. Multiple doctors confirmed this and I wound up having a septum repair. Also, she suspected that I had a small airway and upper airway resistance syndrome. Sleep drs and dentists confirmed this as well.

She’s been a continuous resource for me on doctors, breathing, sleep and issues of the mouth. She presents at conferences and has really strong relationships with the best doctors in her field who think really highly of her.

When my 5 month old daughter was born in Feb, she again was a resource for me about tongue and lip ties. She connected me with the best doctors and dentists in the field.

If you are thinking about going to another speech or myofunctional therapist, don’t! Nicole is the absolute best in San Diego and probably the US.

I’ve been working with Nicole for about 4 months now to address a tongue tie/tongue thrust and the therapy has completely exceeded my expectations! I did not fully understand the benefits of speech therapy until I actually started doing it. In addition to my tongue tie, Nicole has helped me address chronic snoring and teeth grinding. I’m now sleeping better and grinding my teeth less. I highly recommend checking out San Diego Center for Speech Therapy if you have any of these problems!

Nicole Goldfarb is exceptional and has worked with my daughter for mouth breathing, proper swallowing technique, and strengthening of her oral muscles for proper function and development. She was very encouraging, patient, and made the exercises fun for my eleven year old. I highly recommend their entire team. As a pediatric dentist, I have had the privilege of working with Ms. Goldfarb for over a decade and have seen some incredible results. I started myofunctional therapy with Nicole in March of 2020 for a tongue tie. Nicole is amazing! She's an expert in her field and and is enthusiastic about sharing all that she knows. San Diego Center for Speech Therapy is a wonderful place to take a child for therapy. The beautiful building and the lovely courtyard make for a totally comfortable, peaceful environment. The office itself is perfect, both child and adult friendly. Rooms are really cute and well decorated. It is a happy, non-threatening environment that my children love. They have so many fun toys, games, a sensory swing, a fun ball pit, etc. The therapists are great and really relate to the children. The Saturday appointments are so convenient. It is so rare to find an office that has amazing therapists who work on the weekends! They have a true devotion to children. We were able to get evaluations and start therapy without delay. I have been so pleased!

My six year old has been working with Nicole Goldfarb for 6 months and we have seen nothing but progress. My son is a "tongue thruster" who was receiving an IEP through the school district. We were displeased with his progress at the school level so we sought private treatment. Very soon after starting with Nicole we noticed improvement! My son is now a lot easier to understand. Family, friends and peers have all noticed a big improvement!

I was referred by my dentist and had no idea what Myofunctional Therapy was. But after my telehealth appointment with Nicole Goldfarb I felt so informed about what I can do to help my TMJ. She gave me so much information that I never knew I needed, and was so thorough in making sure I had the tools to help myself out. I was referred by my orthodontist in preparation for a future procedure. I had no idea what Myofunctional therapy was but my initial assessment with Kris was both an informative and enjoyable experience. Kris is very thorough and answered all my questions. My son worked with Claire for a year and he went from a 5 year old that no one could understand to a kid that was selected to talk at his school assemblies! Truly amazing. My son was always excited to go to speech as Claire made it fun for him with games and prizes. Everything was exceptional! Nicole Goldfarb is a fantastic clinician who goes through her assessment in great detail and truly cares about her patients. Her expertise in myofunctional therapy is second to none and the community in San Diego is lucky to have her. The person I spoke with initially to set up the appointment was very pleasant as well.

Both Kris and Nicole not only provide excellent myofunctional evaluations and services but they also are a great advocate for their clients when it comes to creating a holistic approach to care. I've had the privilege of working with both Nicole and Kris from the SDCST and had wonderful results with both. After realizing that I have a tongue tie, I started the path of care for myself. The first step involved starting myofunctional therapy to prepare my tongue for the procedure. I worked with Nicole on a weekly basis on a program that she has established to train my tongue on it's proper function and movement. Nicole was extremely prepared, thorough, and thoughtful. During that same time, I decided to do some speech therapy to work on my lisp (also a result of my tongue tie). I worked with Kris who was very patient and understanding of my slow progress. She never made me feel bad about my efforts and helped and encouraged me along the way. I love the care and aid I've received here and highly recommend them to anyone looking for myofunctional or speech therapies!

I have seen multiple therapists here and have been so happy with their knowledge and willingness to go above and beyond to help me. I had an open bite and tongue thrust and they were able to help me figure out that it was related to a sleep breathing issue. Nicole got me connected with the best specialists in the country. Even when we moved out of San Diego, Nicole kept in touch and checked in on my progress.
