- Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Keilani Liuchan is a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) and a current member of California Speech Language Hearing Association. In addition to treating patients at San Diego Center for Speech & Myofunctional Therapy, she currently works as a full time SLPA in the Del Mar Union School District. Keilani provides high-level therapy, treating patients both in the office and virtually. She has experience working with individuals with the following challenges and impairments: speech articulation, pragmatics, voice, receptive/expressive communication, fluency, non verbal, oral motor, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI), seizure disorders, and a rare disorder named Angelman’s Syndrome. Keilani has provided services to clients ranging from preschool age to adult, and she has also participated in Head Start Therapy programming. She is proficient conducting high-level therapy sessions, and is also well-versed in using iPad speech and language applications to supplement her treatment. Keilani also has experience working with and programming Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ACC) devices. Given the wide range of experiences she has had, Keilani is very comfortable working with individuals who may have behavioral challenges, and she is able to use her skills to positively redirect these behaviors helping to ensure her clients are able to be successful. Keilani is HIPAA trained and CPR/AED certified. Her positive attitude, uplifting spirit, and overall love and care for all the patients is appreciated and recognized by all.
